Hello. I have a bot on my FreeNode IRC Channel that is called Daisy. However she's having a hard time getting to know me on IRC (the ident and such of me, the administrator). Here's my output from a whois on my nick: [START] [Coburn64] (n=Coburn64@203.94.62.226): Coburn 64. * [Coburn64] #usf #krystal * [Coburn64] simmons.freenode.net :San Diego, CA, US * [Coburn64] is identified to services * [Coburn64] is signed on as account Coburn64 * [Coburn64] idle 00:05:14, signon: Wed Nov 12 17:04:39 * [Coburn64] End of WHOIS list. [END] Any suggestions? I've tried many userlists, and this is my current one: [START] user Coburn64 mask *!*@203.94.62.226 chan * opt p0u100 pass $1$1527$nMxwLoQnr8GzlwGX5CVhG/ modcount 0 [END] Any help on this subject would be helpful. Thanks! | |

I would suggest you start your bot with debug compiled in. After your bot is online on the channel, you need to quit/part and rejoin the channel. Watch the debug output; the bot may not see your host as 203.94.62.226 but as something like "registered.freenode.net" (host/IP-hiding). Thus makes it hard do recognize an user by its host when all registered users have the same host, however when your nick is also registered you may use a mask like "<mynick>!*@*.freenode.net" or "MyNick!MyUser@*". |
